American Systems' Joint International Weapons and Concepts (JIWC) Directorate Wins $43 Million DoD Contract
CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2006--AMERICAN SYSTEMS, one of the largest locally-based federal contractors in the Washington, D.C. area, announced today that their JIWC Directorate in Dumfries, Virginia was notified of the intent to award a $43 million contract to provide support to the DoD Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program (JNLWP). The JNLWP contract effort extends through 2010.
The DoD Non-Lethal Weapons Program, established in 1997, functions as a centralized program devoted to the coordination and integration of NLW technologies and systems that will support the Services and Combatant Commands. The U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy U.S. Air Force, Special Operations Command, and the U.S. Coast Guard are members of the JNLWP.

The JIWC Directorate supports the non-lethal weapons program by providing science and technology analysis, target human effects expertise in concept integration, capability-based assessments and acquisition management support.
