AMERICAN SYSTEMS' Joint International Weapons and Concepts (JIWC) Directorate wins $650,000 MCCDC Award
DUMFRIES, Va., August 15, 2005 - As a subcontractor to AT&T, AMERICAN SYSTEMS , one of the largest locally-based federal contractors in the Washington, D.C. area, announced today that their JIWC Directorate was notified of a $650,000 contract under CEOss to provide MCCDC system engineering and analytical support to accomplish a formal Joint Capabilities and Integration Development Systems (JCIDS) analysis for the Joint Tactical Common Operational Picture Workstation (JTCW). The contract effort extends through August of 2006.
As the lead for coordinating Marine Air Ground Task Force command and control (C2) activities, the Deputy Commandant for Combat Development in coordination with the Army's Combined Arms Center is developing documentation to support JTCW. As a command and control software baseline, JTCW will integrate the Army's Maneuver Control System and the Marine Corps Command and Control Personal Computer system with other C2 systems to provide a single ground force C2 software baseline to enhance blue force situational awareness.
In a statement, AMERICAN SYSTEMS' Vice President Butch Foley said, "We are proud that our efforts will contribute to the development of the next generation command and control systems."
The JIWC Directorate will support this effort by executing the JCIDS analysis that will lead to an Initial Capabilities Document and/or DOTMLPF Change Recommendations. This will include identifying operational requirements, capability gaps and integrating decision criteria. The objective will be to fully define the requirements supporting both materiel and non-materiel solutions, and to ensure that suitable technical and analytical examination has been applied.
