Non-Lethal Expertise
AMERICAN SYSTEMS JIWC's non-lethal weapons (NLW) expertise spans all phases of the Department of Defense new technology acquisition process, from concept development through procurement and deployment. In support of the DoD Non-Lethal Weapons Program, AMERICAN SYSTEMS JIWC has conducted and offers expertise in Functional Area and Needs Analysis, Requirements Definition, Concept Development and Assessments, Cost Analysis, Life Cycle Cost Estimates, Life Cycle Cost Savings Assessments, and Cost/Benefit Analysis.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS JIWC's experience and leadership have been instrumental in the development of major Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program analytical projects, including the Joint Vision for Non-Lethals: Meeting the Demands of Future Military Operations, and the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Mission Area Analysis/Mission Need Analysis (NLW JMAA/JMNA). The NLW JMAA/JMNA work effort employed a "strategy-to-task" and "task-to-need" methodology that identified the environments in which NLWs may have application as well as potential technologies and weapons systems to meet mission tasks, resulting in a JROC-approved Joint Mission Needs Statement. Due to our expertise and high quality performance, AMERICAN SYSTEMS JIWC also provided support and leadership on related subsequent efforts.
Additionally, AMERICAN SYSTEMS JIWC personnel have considerable experience in conducting both Joint and Service Doctrine - Organization - Training - Leader (DOT-L) analyses and are committed, knowledgeable, and experienced in the requirements identification and definition segments of the newly approved Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process.
